Sally Stuudio, Tallinn (www.kunstikeskus.ee)
Sally Stuudio (founded in 1991) is a non-profit art organization located in Tallinn, Estonia. Our mission is to educate children and young people as future competent creators and consumers of culture and to foster their personal growth and social skills. We run an art school & leisure centre for two hundred pupils with a perspective to extend our activities. We see our future in developing a comprehensive Art Awareness Centre for children, young people and art instructors. Its virtual side - the Estonian Art Education Portal KUNSTIKESKUS.EE - is already operational. We focus on information, inspiration and exchange.
'We find the concept of the new, „open” flag intriguing and promising but are not happy with the fact that the capitals of the new member states are not marked yet. So we decided to improve the flag in the course of a happening by adding a star that marks Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. As the Estonian people saw themselves as Europeans even through the half-century long Soviet occupation, we are sick and tired of waiting a full acceptance for longer.'
