The Gent Clapping Group was founded by Audrey Cottin and varies in members. For the group's Performance at the opening and finissage (2009) André Catalao, Lara Dhondt, Hedwig Houben, Emi Kodama, Carola Muecke, Bas Schevers, Lauren Van Gogh and others composed volumes by clapping. The group is generally open for other people, specialists or not, to participate and as such it incessantly reconstitutes itself, redesigns its amateurism and privileges enthusiasm. "We feel local vernacular but we are also very much vehiculaire...".
