Museum De Paviljoens is a Dutch museum for contemporary art with an outspoken approach: together with young artists, the museum produces unexpected and thought-provoking art works inspired by the New Town Almere and the landscape of Flevoland. Museum De Paviljoens is a museum as laboratory, where experiments and research play an essential role. The international program of Museum De Paviljoens is in no way limited to the museum’s walls, but occupies a greater range, such as the city of Almere itself. Artists, art works and activities are present everywhere in the city, where the museum’s exhibition space acts as a starting point for its wider programs. Museum De Paviljoens continuously creates interconnections between its diverse activities - from exhibitions to education, from lectures to excursions - so that they reinforce each other’s content. Every year, the museum has thousands of visitors, including many students, citizens from Almere and its greater environment.
