FAUX MOUVEMENT is a structure of contemporary art, created in Metz in 1983. Working in the beginning without clean place of exposure, it initiated and organized many projects in Düsseldorf (Kasematte KD2), Turin (Ucronia), Strasbourg (Liz Bachhuber), Paris... in various institutional, deprived or alternative places. In 1992, FAUX MOUVEMENT opened a permanent exhibition space on the ground floor of the Regional Management of the Cultural Affairs of Lorraine in Metz, concentrating thus more its action on Metz and Lorraine. The programming counts six exposures every year. Each project is an original project conceived specifically for this space which will become often an "in-situ" installation. Making the reflexion on the place of exposure one of the important characteristics of FAUX MOUVEMENT, which is not only a place where art is shown but especially a place where it is done. The approach is voluntarily not-commercial and is directed towards research.
