Lorenzo Bruni
Curator and independent art critic

Experiences:

During his studies with Enrico Crispolti at the University of Litterature and Philosophy in Siena, Bruni has collaborated with Fabio Cavallucci during the three editions of “Tuscia Electa” settled in Chianti territory from 1996 to 2000.

Starting from 2000, Bruni takes part to the artistic project named BASE Contemporary Art Projects (www.baseitaly.org), a no-profit space in Florence, where he follows and coordinates each art project along with the artists community of BASE.

In 2001, Bruni was called from the Lanfranco Baldi Foundation of Pelago (Florence) to curate the opening show and, starting from this event, he always actively collaborated with the Foundation and his president Pier Luigi Tazzi.

After one year of work for the Galleria Civica of Castel San Pietro Terme (Bologna) during the year 2004, Bruni and Gino Giannuzzi invented the annual prize for young curators dedicated to Mauro Manara (who was the moving force of the Galleria Civica in Castel San Pietro Terme for twenty years), which started on 2005.

On 2006, Lorenzo Bruni was the inventor and curator of a new art space in Florence, VIANUOVA ARTE CONTEMPORANEA, where he has developed a program of shows and happenings involving international and national contemporary artists.

Lorenzo Bruni also collaborates with the Italian reviews Arte e Critica, edited in Rome, Mousse Magazine and Flash Art, both edited in Milan. He is also author of numbers of essays on contemporary art, young and established artists for publications.
