nY
nY came into being in 2009 as a result of the fusion of two Flemish literary journals—yang (founded in 1963) and freespace Nieuwzuid (founded in 1999). This fusion took place because the arrival of the Internet has definitively changed the way literary journals function. nY is no longer a literary-cultural journal, as we have known them for almost two centuries now, but a cross-media project, the core of which is the intersection of a paper journal and this website.

MER. Paper Kunsthalle
The MER. foundation was founded to examine the possibilities and position of the book medium as a place to exhibit art. The art book, since its beginnings, has traditionally been developed as a catalogue or an aide-mémoire, and seldom has been considered as a space to exhibit living art. However, artists from Dada to the appearance of the artist’s book have always thought of books as exhibiting spaces. MER. will be involved with providing this kind of activity through an institutional platform. MER. calls itself a Paper Kunsthalle, and plans to initiate, develop and support art exhibiting within the book medium.

Nowiswere refers to the precise moment of ‘now’, its singular presence, and its multiple sets of associations. That is to say, whenever we produce an awareness of the ‘now’, whenever we pause and feel the ‘now’, that ‘now’, in its immediate relation to time, belongs to a certain past. Nowiswere states that each ‘now’ that is taken into prolific investigation of what it produces, is a ‘now’ that allows the embodiment of criticality in its stage of becoming. As a publication, Nowiswere aims to provide the ground for an accumulation of recent pasts given by cultural and artistic producers in their individual fields of interest.

Alternative Archive is founded in January 2004 by Ou Ning & Cao Fei, as a platform that connects contemporary art, film, music, theater, design, city study and publishing. At the same time, it archives all the works in all these areas. The space itself is not opened to public, but all the archives can be shared with people via this website in digital format.
Roma Publications
Roma Publications is an independent art publisher, founded by artist Mark Manders and graphic designer Roger Willems. It is used as a platform to produce autonomous publications in close collaboration with a growing number of artists, institutions, writers and designers. Related to the content, every issue has its own rule of appearance and distribution, varying from house to house papers to exclusive books. Until now the publications have editions between 2 and 150,000.
